About the Class

This class focuses on a discovery process: using “listening-writing” as a way to explore what you truly desire and a path to follow in creating your future. The only requirements are a desire to examine your life for clues to what really matters to you AND a willingness to experiment with ways of expressing these truths about yourself. Daily, weekly, and in-class writing experiments are designed to help you explore what you long to express or contribute. Topics include: listening, trusting, creative project notebooks, writing props & practices, freewriting, affirmations, fears & blocks, “imaginings,” and continuing the process after the class ends.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Everyone will be encouraged to begin or continue a writing practice. Each session includes time for guided writing experiments, small and/or large group processing, and brief presentations or discussions led by the instructor. The atmosphere supports and nurtures learning with each other, while moving at your own pace and in your own direction.

INSTRUCTOR:

Laurie Mattila is a master’s level career counselor in private practice in St. Paul. She is also the developer and teacher of Discovery Writing, an engaging and transforming process of listening on paper. Through Discovery Writing people are remembering to hear and trust their own knowing; they are choosing to explore and create a future they desire.

Limited Enrollment	Each section is limited to the first 8 registrations received with deposits.
